Moving into 2025 I am restructuring how I work with athletes. I've had some realizations in the last few years and I think there are some trends in the athletes I work with as well.
For the majority of the year, many athletes do not need high touch, highly customized training plans. They can make great progress under a more general plan as long as they have guidance on how to move sessions to accommodate their lives. For much of the year, I honestly feel that I am not able to coach in the capacity that I desire for a 1:1 relationship. And that is A-okay. BUT how can I better accommodate what the athlete needs?
For athletes that are either highly engaged, highly desiring of custom plans to meet goals that are either on a short time-line or very lofty, OR have significant outside of training hectic/busy lives - I still provide high touch 1:1 coaching. However, after many years of working with high achieving athletes (and desiring of high level of performance), I have made the decision to include personalized strength AND nutrition into my 1:1 coaching relationship. The reality is that I work with mostly masters athletes and while I am confident that my planning and sessions are top notch, if the athlete does not have the foundations to support the training, we're not seeing progress. That is frustrating for me and that is also frustrating for them. And instead of hiring an outside nutritionist and strength coach- I've completed courses to attain those credentials myself and feel very confident that I can provide a more comprehensive and integrated plan for athletes.
So what does this look like for 2025?
1) 1:1 coaching will be very limited in the total athletes that I work with over the next year to ensure I have the capacity to deep dive with the athlete. Custom schedule build around life and commitments, building toward your goals, race AND health related, unlimited schedule modifications, nearly daily feedback in TrainingPeaks, everyday and race-day nutritional guidance, custom strength sessions that will be modified depending on the time of season and focus, weekly calls to discuss progress and address concerns, pre-race planning and debriefs, unlimited communication in slack. If you are looking to go ALL in next year, this is for you! $650/mo.
2) Group coaching, either multi-sport focused or run-focused. These are priced at $189/mo and $169/mo respectively. The multi-sport crew will have live coached cycling (or recorded) within the velocity platform 2-3 x week. Eventually I will offer strength and mobility for multi-sport and run-crew athletes, probably starting in February. I will hold office hours 1x month to help guide athletes (in addition to guidance provided in the coached cycling) and to answer questions. I am also rolling out more educational content that athletes will have access to. We'll have communication in slack and fun-challenges to keep us moving towards our goals in 2025. Athletes will have a discount code to book calls with me to go over their data/address concerns, etc.
3) If you want in to our live or recoded coached rides- I'd love to have you join! 89$/mo, which works out to 7.41$/ride (most rides on the weekdays are 60-90 mins and on the weekends 90 mins- 2+ hrs). These will cover a range of modalities to increase strength/power and cycling skills.
4) I'm also offering consults if you are a self-coached athlete looking to get some general or specific guidance on your sessions or a season overview. Or maybe you'd like to get a check-up on your daily or race day nutrition. Check the website for more details there.
5) Personalized performance plans will be offered at 25$/week. Minimum 12 weeks up to 52 weeks for a full year plan. These are developed around your life and goals, I include preferences for which days of the week you prefer what types of sessions and will include A/B/C races and events. No feedback or communication offered in TrainingPeaks but athletes will have a discounted rate for additional calls to review their training, address concerns, or for pre-race planning. Think of these as highly personalized stock plans.
6) More traditional stock plans are in the works and coming mid January! I'll keep you updated when they are ready! I'm working on Ironman and 70.3 focused, 13.1 and marathon training, and up to 50 mi ultra's. General base endurance training and for all my MAF nerds- a 12-week to improve your MAF pace/power!
